Today's post is a bit different and as the title suggest its ;Why
you should consider laughing more.
There's
a popular saying that laughter is the best medicine. I’m sure you've heard about
it, Right?
Laughter
is sometimes described as a manifestation of joy and expression of mirth. It’s
making sounds and movements with the face and body that show joy, amusement and
contentment. Laughter causes the release of endorphins which are the human body
natural pain relief hormones. It relieves tension, anxiety, shame and guilt and
helps one maintain a positive attitude even in negative situations. Additionally,
it is able to raise energy levels thereby completely getting rid of depression.
It helps reduce stress that comes in the course of your daily activities. It
also improves your emotional and mental health and ultimately creates a sense
of well-being within you.
People
laugh for various reasons but the word of God gives us insight into the
spiritual benefits of laughter. Proverbs 17 verse 22 says, “A cheerful heart is
good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” New International
Version (NIV). In other words, wonderful healing power is unleashed every time
you laugh! Although laughter is a psychological response to humor, it doesn't
always have to be initiated by an external influence or condition. It can spring
up from inside you and burst forth on the outside.
I know sometimes it's not easy for things to
be always merry so that you are laughing, or you have that joy inside of you. Sometimes
you get to feel disappointed, feel down, but we all have the power to choose whether
to be happy or get controlled by the circumstances surrounding us. Smile and laugh more.Smiling is the beginning of laughter, count your blessings, make a list and make an effort to consider the beautiful things you already have in your life. The
simple act of considering the good things in your life will distance you from
negative thoughts that are a barrier to humor and laughter. When you hear
laughter, move towards it, people are very happy to share something funny always
because it gives them an opportunity to laugh again and feel the humor in it. Spend time with fun, playful
people, these are people who laugh easily, both at themselves and at life’s
absurdities and who routinely find humor in everyday events. Their playful
point of view and laughter are contagious.Surround
yourself with reminders to lighten up, keep things in perspective to eliminate stress. Many things
are beyond our control, but we can all choose to make the best of most situations and find the positive
in every one of them.
Back
to the outfit, today, I’m styling my knitted midi dress in navy blue.
